ADHD therapy for a mind that has never run quietly
Holding it together all day and having nothing left by six. Being told you are too much and not enough in the same week. The ideas, the half-finished tabs, the admin that sits there for months while everything else gets done twice.
Online counselling for ADHD adults across London and the rest of the UK, whether you were diagnosed last month, thirty years ago, or have simply stopped arguing with how your mind has always worked.
What is ADHD therapy for adults, and how does it help?
ADHD therapy is a regular, confidential conversation with a therapist who understands how an ADHD brain actually works. It is not a productivity course, and it is not assessment. It is space to make sense of patterns you have been managing alone, and to work out what to do about them.
Most people arrive carrying two things: the practical difficulties, and the story they have built about themselves because of them. Lazy. Difficult. Too much. We work on both, because the second one usually decides whether anything practical sticks.
Sessions are online, fifty minutes, the same time each week. You speak from wherever you already feel comfortable, with no commute to manage and no waiting room to sit in. For a lot of ADHD adults, removing those two things is the difference between going consistently and quietly dropping out.
-
Work with your brain, not against it. Strategies built around how you actually think, not borrowed from people who have never lost an afternoon to the wrong tab.
-
The shame gets named. Years of being called lazy or difficult leave a mark. We work on that, not only on the practical side.
-
Tools that survive a real week. Ways of starting, finishing and remembering that still work on the days when nothing else does.
-
No GP referral, no waiting list. Book an assessment directly and start within days, not years.
ADHD counselling for the parts therapy can actually reach
ADHD shows up differently in everyone. Medication can turn the volume down. Therapy is where you work out what to do with the quiet, and with the years that came before it.
Rejection sensitivity and self-criticism
The disproportionate sting of criticism, and the single comment you replay for days. We work on the inner voice built from years of falling short of a standard designed for a different brain.
Emotional regulation
The intensity, the sudden flatness, feelings that arrive at full volume with no warning. Therapy helps you understand what is happening and recognise it earlier, so it runs you less.
Executive function and procrastination
Not another colour-coded system. Ways of starting, finishing and remembering that survive contact with a real ADHD week, built around how you actually work rather than how you think you should.
Relationships and being misunderstood
Being called distant when you were overwhelmed, or too much when you were excited. Making sense of the pattern, for you and for the people close to you, and finding ways to be understood.
ADHD burnout and masking
Holding it together all day costs more than anyone sees. We look at what masking takes out of you, why the evenings collapse, and what a week looks like when you stop paying for calm with everything you had left.
Anxiety and low mood alongside ADHD
Most ADHD adults arrive with anxiety too, built up over years of bracing for the next thing forgotten. We work with both together rather than one at a time.
Adult ADHD traits we work with every week
You do not need a formal ADHD diagnosis to start therapy, and we will not ask you to prove anything. If any of these are shaping your days, there is something here to work with.

Frequently asked questions about
Do I need a formal ADHD diagnosis to start therapy?
No. Many people come to us mid-waiting-list, self-identified, or still unsure. A diagnosis can be useful, particularly for medication and workplace adjustments, but you do not need one to begin therapy and we will never ask you to prove anything in order to book.
Can therapy help while I wait for an NHS ADHD assessment?
Yes, and it is one of the most common reasons people come to us. Therapy will not shorten the wait or replace the assessment, but it can take the pressure off while you are in it. We work on the burnout, the self-criticism and the patterns that tend to build during a long wait.
Do you assess for ADHD, or prescribe medication?
No. We are a talking therapy practice, not a diagnostic or medical service. We do not carry out ADHD assessments or prescribe. We work alongside your GP or psychiatrist, and can talk through what a formal assessment route might look like if you are considering one.
Is this ADHD coaching?
It is therapy. Coaching tends to stay on systems and goals. We also make room for the shame, the self-criticism and the history underneath, which are usually the parts that decide whether the systems stick.
Does therapy work if I am already on medication?
Yes, and the two do different jobs. Medication can turn the volume down on the symptoms. Therapy is where you work out what to do with the quiet, and with the years that came before it. Many of our clients are already medicated when they start.
How much does ADHD therapy cost, and is there a waiting list?
A one-hour assessment is £50. Ongoing sessions are £50 with a supervised trainee counsellor, or £125 with a fully qualified counsellor. There is no waiting list. Most people begin weekly sessions within a week of their assessment.
You do not have to explain much, or have it worked out. Send us a message and a person will read it and write back within one working day. No obligation, and no pressure to book anything.
